Prizes, birthday's and babies with "boy bits"!!

Photobucket

This is a sunflower.. not just any sunflower.. this is a sunflower grown by my son.

This is my son and his certificate for winning 1st prize (YAY!) in the "Largest sunflower head" competition at the Eccleshill Horticultural Society's annual show.

Photobucket
BLESS HIM.. he was so chuffed..lol

other news.. the 21st of this month brings a double birthday in our house as my twin daughters celebrate their 6th birthday.. yes the lil babies that weighed 5lb 2 oz and 4lb 9oz are now not so little..

Photobucket
see??  They're bloody huge now..lol, thats them posing in their party dresses..

They had a party for 20 of their little friends (it felt like 200 of them) at the local playgym, Tiddley Peeps and they had great fun.. I cant really post pics of other peoples kids but I can show you this one of Grandad John..

Photobucket

if you look really carefully on the wall behind him it says "Wrinkly Peep" .. we all thought that was quite appropriate.. I'm now sure I'll have to pay for that one LOL

Anyway party over and onto the mountain of presents!!  There were Princess dolls and dresses... Bless!!

Photobucket
and shoes and tamagotchi's (Oh no!) and make up and fairy wings and ponies and thats before they got our present..lol

We bought the girls these..

Photobucket

scary lil buggers aren't they?  they're "newborn" babies.. they dont do anything.. they just look like baby's, they dont pee or talk or cry or eat or crawl or swim or call you mummy or anything.. there are no batteries in them at all and they don't cost the earth.... and the kids LOVE them.  All this time I've been worrying about not how to afford the latest baby annabel doll.. but how to afford TWO and all that time I needn't have worried.. my gorgeous girls prefer to use their imaginations with their babies that do nothing.. yay for my clever girls...lol

There was only one problem.. they're completely anatomically correct and I didn't know this when I told Angelina she could have a boy one.  o_O  oooooooooooops.

There I am wrapping Heathers girl doll as Jake is peering inside the nappy of the boy one and giggling like a schoolboy and I hear "Angelina's not gonna like that..." and I turn to find my 8 year old holding up the doll and showing me a teeny tiny plastic pee pee.

Oh holy shit.. think I, Angelina will either love it and tell everyone she knows about her baby's penis or she'll never touch it again.

Of course it was the first one.. its Angelina after all.. she did say to me though "Mummy.. I've looked at it, but I'm not touching though.." lol..

There was a cake.. sort of, I busted the seal on the oven and now nothing I cook will rise..

Photobucket

didn't stop the kids eating it though.. and it tasted really good too..lol

Photobucket

and that was it really.. next is my own Dad's birthday.. on the 24th, dark day..he would have been 60.. I saved him some cake, his favourite.. chocolate.

Happy birthday to the many other people I know with birthdays this week... I hope you have as good a time as we did. xx

Old...much?

So I had ANOTHER birthday...

I thought they were supposed to stop when a girl hit 29?

I mean really.. what girl needs reminding of her age and the impending doom of all that goes with it??

Wrinkles..grey hair.. sagging..well..everything actually!!!

Who needs it??? Not me.. so why celebrate the ageing process?

err... whilst we're on the subject, I would just like to take this opportunity to inform you all that I do not have a single grey hair (YAY ME!!) and its not because I haven't dyed my hair lately (as some tw*t suggested the other day. lol) because I'm a lazy bitch and I haven't dyed my hair for months ..haha.
Nor do I have wrinkles.. (shut up.. they're laughter lines), everything is hanging south however.. oh pfft.. yours would be too if you'd breast-fed twins!!!

So.. old age. I am officially 'middle-aged' according to my Mother who took great pleasure in sharing this with me, yes she enjoyed this fact very much until I reminded her of what my middle age-dom made her. heh.

35 apparently is half of the average life span, that being 70 yrs of age.. now we all know this is rubbish really because its not an exact science and you never know how long you're gonna get but as approximations go its not bad.. lol if I get to 70 then I've had 13 yrs more than my Dad so I guess I would be winning at that.

Of course if I die on my 70th birthday I'm gonna be pissed off. I read somewhere that Gwyneth Paltrow gave up smoking on the condition that she could start again on her 70th birthday as it wouldn't make much difference to her life span at that point.. and that sounds like a reasonable thing to do to me and if its good enough for Gwyneth.. who am I to argue with a Hollywood legend? So by the time I get my next smoke I will have lived my whole life again... wow.. that's kind of mind-blowing really..lol

So.. In addition to a well-deserved smoke (hey.. if I live the next 35 years with Rich without burying him under the patio it will be way beyond 'well deserved'..) I have what to look forward to over the next 35 years?? Ooooh!!!! let's make a list!!!

  • Grey hair.. as you know.. I have none currently, so I have this joy to look forward too.
  • false teeth - don't joke about it.. I broke one the other week.. it's just a matter of time now.
  • Old lady beard - ew... I will NEVER have one of those.. I'm armed with tweezers scouting for chin pubes as I type!!!
  • Tena lady - no.. just no.. if I start to smell like pee then SHOOT ME.. I refuse to be Grandma sitting in the corner smelling of pee..
  • Purple rinse.. I'm actually secretly looking forward to this one..I'm having purple and Ali's getting blue and we're gonna sit on a bench in the Memorial park in Cleck moaning about "the youth of today!!" - LOVE IT.
  • Upon reaching 50 I will have spent approx 5 years of my life "queuing" for various things.. 5 YEARS waiting in a bloody queue!!! To know this will completely piss me off.. avoid me on 3 June 2025 cos I'll be really grumpy that day..lol
  • Arthritis, plastic hips & knee joints, pace makers, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, senility, dementia, senility, menopause, senility... lol

The list is endless and I haven't even thought further than 40 yet.. Rich must be shitting himself!!! HAHAHA

ohhhhhh.. why do we bother? See in ye olden years gone by we didn't. Life was short with many people not living past their 30's and its easy to see why now with all the things that are yet to befall me. It's hard to imagine though, I can't begin to think that I've seen it all or done it all at this age (although I've done quite a lot of things.. and not all good too!! lol) I remember many years ago (see? old I am) my Mother telling me that she still felt 17 in her head..
Well I do too but then I open my eyes and look down at where my tits used to be and yeah.. I'm feeling 35 again pretty quick.. I can't imagine how I'll feel when I'm tucking them in to my pants..LOL ew.. sorry.. wrong on soooooooooooooooo many levels.

So.. I decree that from henceforth and doo dah jobby whatsits that birthdays should count backwards from 30 starting now and I shall be 29 again...

hmmm... what was I doing at 29??

oh... I was just about to give birth to twins.. aw crap...lol

I might need to re-think this..

busy busy busy!!!

Halloween weekend is always busy at Chez Savage what with my own personal "Prince of Darkness" (more commonly known as 'Jake') being born a mere 2 days before the event itself.. When I was very heavily pregnant someone suggested we call him "Damien" if he was born on the 31st as first babies are often overdue..thankfully he came bang on time and without 666 tattooed on his head... although he did have an awful lot of hair so I sometimes wonder..with him being the Spawn of Savage and all that..if i missed it, maybe I should shave his head and check sometime lol.

Soooooo there was much plenty of this..

Photobucket

gotta love Maltesers after all... and then there was a bit of this..bless him!!

and then when all that was over I nipped upstairs to the bathroom, came back down and found this...

Photobucket

all those toys and the buggers play with the bubble wrap!!!! How very rude....LOL

Next came a trip to the cinema to watch "Aliens in the Attic" which even I found funny.. and a good time was had by all.

Then Saturday night we had this..

Photobucket

I swear to God I don't know who had more fun Rich or the kids!!! (check out the red eye... I TOLD YOU THEY'RE EVIL!!!!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

My babies are 5. yes count those years cos I said F-I-V-E!!!!!! can you believe it? I bloody can't...

It doesn't feel like 2 minutes since that battleaxe midwife was giving the paediatrician (who was up to his elbow in places you don't even want to think about) the death stare across the birthing table as I lay -most uncomfortably and very very undignified - legs akimbo in the stirrups as she calmly uttered the immortal words...

"There will be no caesarean sections on my watch 'Doctor'."

and the poor little trainee doctor in prime viewing position who went white as a sheet and had to sit down saying "I've never seen a twin birth before..." was firmly told to "Move.... now."

She was a formidable lady... she definitely had control of that room full of people... me, rich, my mum, the trainee, the doctor, the 2 special care doctors and their 2 nurses and an extra midwife.. and the midwife that was off shift who had been involved earlier on and wanted to know what we were getting... and any tom, dick or harry that walked down the hall and heard the whispers of "natural twin delivery in room 4.." honestly.. I was wondering if I'd signed up for the first ever twin birth without c section in Bradford!

So yes... 5 years ago. I gave birth to.. well..

Photobucket

these...

hard to believe that they're now this size...

Photobucket

but they are. So.. even though its not the official birthday until the 21st we had to have a party today and presents too cos being a cool mum I realise that getting your birthday presents half an hour before you have to go to school is shit... so we got them early which was much better!

So to my babies. Happy 5th Birthday.. you're growing up waaaaaaaaaaay too fast.

Mummy nub loo. xx

p.s. Have you seeeeeeeeeen how handsome my son looks in a shirt??? MY GOD my kids are gorgeous...lol
