Can we build it?

YES we can!!

I bought this ---> Photobucket

and it needed building. Rich has a day off .. not anymore, he can complete some jobs think I. mwahahaha.

So I phoned my Mum cos Rich and DIY spells automatic disaster. He should have a warning sign or a siren really..maybe like the air raid siren.. or one of those "this car is reversing" sounds that some cars have, except of course it would be "Warning.. this man is a danger, step away from the screwdriver!!" hehehehe..

ok where was I? oh yes.. phoned my Mum cos she just loves the entertainment value of it all really and told her what we were up to, she immeditately offered Johns services as he can do DIY just fine.. well as long as she's reading the instructions anyway..lol and down they came.

I am the "tea/coffee police" and so I know my job and get to it straight away... and from there we progressed as follows.

Photobucket ^^ Richard's arse. Photobucket ^^ much fun in the garden with the bubbles...

Photobucket ^^^ Rich is a tool.. sorry.. Rich AND a tool.

what I want to know is who decided to give him access to the tools anyway? One minute he was 'supervising' and the next he was discussing screws with this lady Photobucket
more commonly known as "Jen's Mum", there she is offering my husband a screw o_O..

I can hear you giggling... but I'm not kidding am I Mum?? noooooooooooooooo

I'm playing bubbles happily with the girls and Rich says "Jen yer Mum's trying to get off with me again..." the conversation apparently went like this.

John :- "See... he's good at screwing!" as in with a screwdriver... only Rich being Rich had to make something of it with a very filthy..

"mwahahahahhaha heh. I'm really good at screwing...heheheh"

Mum fell into the trap as she alwas does with a..

"Well thats a good job cos john can never find the hole..."

Rich :- "Are you propositioning me again Sue?"

My poor Mum... she looked like... well... this Photobucket

The first time my Mum 'propositioned' Rich is forever etched on all our minds... only cos Rich wont let us forget.
We'd taken a holiday on the lovely isle of Rhodes and my Mum was having a shower, as Rich walked past the bathroom door my Mum said "You can come and get in if you like.." thinking it was HER husband John outside the bathroom.. poor thing got such a shock as Rich said
"Nah you're alright... ta for asking though!"
he wasnt phased... he wandered into our bedroom and said calmly
"Your Mum just tried to get off with me, she wants me to have a shower with her.."
he didnt even look up for his paper or whatever he was doing... and he turned and went back out of the room.. poor Mum was mortified... and probably a bit disgusted too I expect..lol

Anyway Rich has told everyone he knows about this many times since and now he has a NEW story to add to his collection. lol my poor Mum.

So... back to the DIY. After a bit more of this.. Photobucket

and more posing with the screwdriver

Photobucket

and lots more of this...

Photobucket

we finally had some of this

Photobucket

(think thats called 'work') and we ended up with this

Photobucket

job done and a great time was had by all... except Mum who was mercilessly teased for the rest of the day. Business as usual then!

Money that grows on trees...

What is it with my kids?

They started school at the beginning of this month and we've already been through 3 pairs of tights, scraped school shoes to buggery, lost a button off a coat, had a leak from a juice bottle that ruined 2 lunch boxes and got a hole in a cardigan.. and thats just Heather!!

and the other 2 are just as bad... take Jake for instance. in the spring he begged me for new trainers which he then wouldn't wear because they weren't as comfortable as the ones hanging off his feet. So I throw the old ones out and he has to wear the new ones...

At the weekend he comes in from playing out with his friends and his trainers remarkably resemble this

Photobucket

they were split so badly I could see his toes... so I asked what he'd been doing with them.. turns out he's been scraping them along the path as he walked.. think he wanted some new ones?

so we bought some new ones... to be honest they were falling off his feet so I didnt have much choice. I spent more than I would usually on a pair of 'playing out' trainers. They were £10. I usually head to one of the bargain places like Wyndsor or Priceless etc and pick up a pair for a fiver.. (i'm very careful about sizing and fit but not so much bothered for cost) but the buttmunch was desperate for some skater trainers and I caved.

Today I pick them up and notice they look a little scuffed across the top.. well I'll be buggered.. the little sod's only scraping them like the other ones.. no reason, just because he can...

So I told him he'd have to pay for them then if he wanted to treat them like that because I wouldnt be replacing them.. it went something like this...

me : - "Do I look like I've got money to burn young man???"

Jake: - "Yes."

Me:- "Well I haven't."

Jake:- "Oh fine then!"

little git got his money box, emptied it.. asked me how much was there (I said £5) and he said "I'll have to owe you a fiver then".

"Damn right you will boy... lets learn a lesson!!" say I and took his £5 and put a note on a piece of paper in his money box saying "I owe Mum £5".

Thats no pocket money for 5 weeks.. lets see how he likes that.

p.s. anyone know what this is??

Photobucket

yeah thats right... its a "tromefee" according to Heather and no matter how many times I tell her its more commonly known as a 'trophy' she refuses to believe me and just falls into fits of giggles saying "a 'trophy' ahahahahahaha!!! you're funny Mummy!!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

My babies are 5. yes count those years cos I said F-I-V-E!!!!!! can you believe it? I bloody can't...

It doesn't feel like 2 minutes since that battleaxe midwife was giving the paediatrician (who was up to his elbow in places you don't even want to think about) the death stare across the birthing table as I lay -most uncomfortably and very very undignified - legs akimbo in the stirrups as she calmly uttered the immortal words...

"There will be no caesarean sections on my watch 'Doctor'."

and the poor little trainee doctor in prime viewing position who went white as a sheet and had to sit down saying "I've never seen a twin birth before..." was firmly told to "Move.... now."

She was a formidable lady... she definitely had control of that room full of people... me, rich, my mum, the trainee, the doctor, the 2 special care doctors and their 2 nurses and an extra midwife.. and the midwife that was off shift who had been involved earlier on and wanted to know what we were getting... and any tom, dick or harry that walked down the hall and heard the whispers of "natural twin delivery in room 4.." honestly.. I was wondering if I'd signed up for the first ever twin birth without c section in Bradford!

So yes... 5 years ago. I gave birth to.. well..

Photobucket

these...

hard to believe that they're now this size...

Photobucket

but they are. So.. even though its not the official birthday until the 21st we had to have a party today and presents too cos being a cool mum I realise that getting your birthday presents half an hour before you have to go to school is shit... so we got them early which was much better!

So to my babies. Happy 5th Birthday.. you're growing up waaaaaaaaaaay too fast.

Mummy nub loo. xx

p.s. Have you seeeeeeeeeen how handsome my son looks in a shirt??? MY GOD my kids are gorgeous...lol

Lazytown came to Scarborough..

I decided the other day that I ought to transfer all the stuff from my mobile phone to the computer, I do this quite regularly now cos I always have my phone to hand and it records some of our families most precious moments and I've lost phones or broken them and lost the memories with them before so now I upload to the computer so it wont happen again.

Anyway..I've found lots of stuff on it this time that I'd forgotten about (so there'll be lots of blogging over the next few days) but this one here is a particular favourite..it still makes me giggle like crazy - you'll hear me in the back ground..lol
A few days before we left for our summer holiday the kids (yes that includes Richard) had been watching Lazytown, they were having their usual sporting fun and enjoying a game of baseball... Stephanie has to prepare by... well Angie does it perfectly.. and apparently thats what baseball is. Enjoy.

First day at school...

So Monday was the first day of school for the girls.. well half day anyway, I never did understand why they did that... for thelast few weeks of nursery they're preparing them for full days at school, then they give them 6 weeks off and then make them come back to school for half days for a week, poor kids don't know whether they're coming or going do they?

Anyway, they started.. and in separate classes too!! I had mixed feelings about this, on the one hand I'm sad that they're being when they've always been together so far but I'm glad because I know they'll develop a better sense of individuality as opposed to always being 'Heather/Angelina's twin' or 'the girls' etc. We're noticing the benefits already, they miss each other and so they're playing nicer together at home... which is great for me..lol and when they do something in school they then come home and show the other one how to do it too... which will be great for their education. So there are definite plus points.

Jake likes his new teacher too which is a relief, I'll never forget the year he didnt like the teaching assistant and he had such a horrible time that year, thankfully she left halfway through the year and he picked up quickly after that..it was still a worrying time..

Another plus note is now I have 8 hours a day to do all kinds of things, I have ironing that needs doing, painting, cleaning, decluttering... not to mention going to the gym and coffee mornings etc and now I've been offered voluntary work at the school helping with the reading too... I'm busier now than I've ever been!!! LOL

I cant believe I have 3 kids at primary school...there are no more babies in the house!!!

I dunno whether to cry or throw a party.....think I'm gonna start with that pile of ironing that I havent had time to touch for the last 5 years.... whoever said having kids was easy?

Domestic goddess moment...

How's THAT for a Saturday morning before 11 am??

See that big gap on the plate?? Yeah.... that was Richard.

He enjoyed though... and he's a chef and its not easy to impress a chef with yer cooking.

I truly am a domestic goddess... move over Anthea Turner!! lol

Teeth, tantrums and tears.

Its been an eventful week.....first Jake lost a tooth and then a few days later lost another (kid is gonna bankrupt me if he carries on like this!) and then Rich tried to kill Heather... well actually his feet did and no, I'm not talking smell..lol she tripped up over his feet and went face first into the coffee table (which now has a dint in it), it was a bad one poor thing... a whole lot of blood, a screaming child and a panicking Daddy and yes... you guessed it, Angelina slept, peacefully oblivious throughout the whole thing lol.

Anyway poor Heather was so brave she only cried for a few minutes (it could have been the ice pop that bribed her into quietness as well as numbing her mouth, thus lessening her pain) but the blood!! That was scary.. and the bruising to her cheek.. and the tear in the gum.. I took some pics cos it was just so awful I had to share!!! LOL how morbidly disgusting... here have a look!!
Photobucket

Photobucket

poor baby. :(

So.. in other news.. Jake went back to school today which really pissed off Angelina cos she's desperate to start but she has to wait until Monday... this is completely killing her, I don't know why they cant start all the years on the same day but Angelina is NOT happy and she'll be even unhappier when I tell her she doesn't need to take her Peppa Pig lunchbox with her on Monday as the school in their infinite wisdom have decided to take things slowly and bring them into the school thing gradually... oh no.. she's gonna kick off for sure on that one. Her Peppa Pig lunchbox is the shiznit apparently... "even betterer than Heather's Charlie and Lola one and much much cooler than Jake's Ben 10 box" so there. lol

Pity poor me cos I'm the one thats going to have to break the news... I may not be back...lol
