Xmas

So Xmas has been and gone. It was fun actually, Rich was working (as usual) so not much fun for him but the kids had a great time.

Xmas eve was spent tracking Santa across the world (with a lil bit of help from Google Earth and NORAD), at first they thought it was amazing and they all sat infront of the screen watching it update and screaming for me to come read the location (- which I hasten to add was no fun for me cos I was trying to get the mountain of ironing done so I didnt have to spend the evening doing chores). After a while they realised it was going to take hours for Santa to get to our house and became bored and then they started...

"Is it bedtime yet?"

"No."

"When's Santa coming?"

"When you're in bed"

"Can I go to bed now?"

"Angelina, it's 9am, you've just had your breakfast..."

"I'm tired"

"You're not going to bed"

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease??"

"No."

then she hit Heather, for no reason, just because she can. Little bugger.

So that was how the day started and continued pretty much until bedtime despite my calls of "Santa's not going to be happy" or "Santa only brings presents for good little boys and girls you know!!"

Apparently my children couldn't give two shits what Santa thought. Bless them.

When we were kids we were terrified by the thought that Santa may not call.... not my kids, they not bothered if Santa calls or not cos who cares when Nana's coming!!!

Maybe I haven't instilled enough fear into their little souls...must remember to rectify that ;)

Xmas morning passed in a blur and a sea of presents and my front room looked like ToysRUs gone wrong... outside there are 4 black bin liners full of cardboard boxes and packaging...wtf is that all about? why do they have to put those stupid twisty tags on everything too? They are the MOST annoying thing in the world ever and the kids cant wait to for you to untwist everything so they move on to the next one and you miss all the best bits cos you're buried under a mountain of twisty plastic tags and wrapping paper!!

Anyway they were thrilled with what they got (although now...a week later I bet if I asked them they couldn't tell you half of the things they received) and I have to go through the house throwing out last years toys to find space to put the new stuff. I'm sure my mother buys them as many gifts as possible just to make me go through the house and declutter!!! I know she does, she's spent the last 3 years trying to persuade me to get rid of the baby stuff to make some room in the place although secretly I think this is a plot cooked up between her and Rich to make sure I dont have anymore babies!! LOL

Anyway, a good time was had by all, John cooked a fabulous dinner and Rich made it home in time to eat it too!! I made Mum laugh and cry all in one go with my fantastic gift buying (I am surely the best at this) and I got some shiny bling...and a slow cooker (there's a funny story with this one). Read on.....
